Hi, my Chambers Model B Stove is about to be delivered to me. What instructions would I need to give to the seller? Thanks in advance for your answer

Basic instructions for moving a CHAMBERS:

A competent moving company with good insurance can move it just as easily as anyone else.

Advice for moving it:

Be SURE your shipper insures it for AT LEAST $1000.00! That's what it will cost to get another one and have it shipped to you.

Also - they should pack EVERYTHING that isn't fastened to the stove separately in bubble wrap. This includes the:

* Top burners
* Drip rings
* Burner grates
* Flash tubes
* Thermowell: burner, grate, & lid
* Oven racks
* Oven floor
* Broiler pan
* Sizzling platter
* Broiler burner
* Grease tray
* Pilot light cover
* Service Cabinet shelf
* Cooktop cover

Also - If possible, I would have them remove the side panels - they are decorative, and NOT designed to have pressure applied to them, as when being moved. In addition, the should be CAREFUL if they use a dolly with a strap NOT to damage the gas valves (expensive fix!).

The best way to move it is on a large piano dolly (or two with plywood across them). Do NOT drag it! It weighs around 425 pounds, and will not only make horrible marks in the floors, you will bend the legs. DO NOT strap across the top from back to front or front to back - ONLY from side to side.

This is glass fused onto metal panels. Common sense is the rule of the day here...

P.S.: Your Chambers ought to be recalibrated after the move. Do you have the Service Manual for it? What about the Cookbook/Operation Manual? Let me know if you need them... - Todd
